Payments
Nobody here has measured a payment
This section sits at an address with the word measured in it. That word is not ours to use: every withdrawal figure on this site was published by an operator or by an affiliate, and the ones that were genuinely computed were computed by the researcher who wrote the record, with the method attached. What follows is the 6 rails money moves on in this market, what 9 readable cashiers say about them, and the ceiling that actually decides a large win.
The rails
6 of them, and three that matter
Betting money in Ghana moves on mobile money. Cards and bank transfers exist in a handful of cashiers and one licensed casino publishes a cryptocurrency row, which the regulator's own anti-money-laundering guidance treats as a flag rather than a feature.
| Rail | Books carrying it | Share | Lowest deposit | Lowest withdrawal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MTN Mobile Money | 9 | 100% | GH₵1.00 | GH₵1.00 |
| Telecel Cash | 9 | 100% | GH₵1.00 | GH₵1.00 |
| AirtelTigo Money | 9 | 100% | GH₵1.00 | GH₵1.00 |
| Bank transfer | 0 | 0% | unstated | unstated |
| Debit or credit card | 3 | 33% | GH₵1.00 | unstated |
| Cryptocurrency | 1 | 11% | unstated | unstated |
Money moves between MTN, Telecel and AirtelTigo wallets: GhIPSS runs the switch behind all three, and it carries wallet-to-wallet transfers across networks as well as wallet-to-bank, bank-to-wallet and wallet-to-e-zwich. A punter reaches it from the mobile money short code they already use, so the network a payout arrives on is rarely the network the money has to stay on.
The ceiling that is not the bookmaker's
The real ceiling on a large betting withdrawal, and it is set by the central bank rather than by any bookmaker. A minimum-KYC wallet cannot receive more than GH₵3,000 in a day, more than GH₵10,000 in a month, or hold more than GH₵5,000, so a big win has to be split or the wallet upgraded. The monthly cap is the one that actually binds: splitting a large payout across consecutive days does not get round it, and only an upgrade to Medium or Enhanced KYC removes it, because monthly value is unlimited at both of those tiers. Enhanced KYC is the full-KYC ceiling: GH₵25,000 a day and a GH₵75,000 balance.
| Verification tier | In a day | In a month | Balance it may hold |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum KYC | GH₵3,000 | GH₵10,000 | GH₵5,000 |
| Medium KYC | GH₵15,000 | no ceiling | GH₵40,000 |
| Enhanced KYC | GH₵25,000 | no ceiling | GH₵75,000 |
The previous tier set, effective 22 December 2022, was GH₵2,000 / GH₵10,000 / GH₵15,000 daily and GH₵3,000 / GH₵25,000 / GH₵50,000 balance. Do not cite a source describing those figures as support for the current ones.
The levy that ended
The Electronic Transfer Levy was cut from 1.5% to 1% at the start of 2023 and then repealed outright on 2 April 2025, and the GRA told charging entities to stop deducting the same day and refund anything taken after it. No government levy sits on a mobile money transfer today.
Introduced at 1.5% by the Electronic Transfer Levy Act, 2022 (Act 1075) in May 2022, having been trimmed from a proposed 1.75% before passage; cut to 1% by the Electronic Transfer Levy (Amendment) Act, 2022 (Act 1089) with effect from 1 January 2023; repealed by the Electronic Transfer Levy (Repeal) Act, 2025 (Act 1128), which Parliament passed on 26 March 2025 and which was assented and took effect on 2 April 2025, repealing both Act 1075 and Act 1089. Liabilities incurred before the repeal date survive it.
Tax on a win
Ghana withheld ten per cent of gross winnings from 2023 and repealed it on 2 April 2025 under Act 1129, so a licensed operator pays winnings in full today. Both halves of that sentence matter: a page saying Ghanaian winnings have always been untaxed is wrong about every year a reader can remember, and at least one bookmaker's own terms still quote a withholding rate that no longer applies.
Where a withdrawal figure comes from
nine books on this register have a withdrawal time somebody recorded, four carry a figure this network chose, and the rest publish nothing at all. The second group is the dangerous one, because an estimate looks exactly like a measurement once it is in a column, and the shared model grades it as though a bookmaker had stated it.
Questions about getting paid
- Has this desk measured how long a withdrawal takes?
- No. Not one cedi has been deposited, staked or withdrawn by anybody working on this publication, and the section you are reading is at a URL containing the word measured, which is the registry's word rather than ours. Every time on these pages is a figure an operator or an affiliate published about itself, and where a figure is neither of those the page says so and names the bookmaker.
- What decides how much of a win can actually reach me?
- The wallet, not the bookmaker. A mobile money account on minimum verification cannot receive more than GH₵3,000 in a day, more than GH₵10,000 in a month, or hold more than GH₵5,000. The monthly ceiling is the one that binds, because splitting a payout across consecutive days does not get round it. Those limits are set by the Bank of Ghana.
- Is there still a government levy on a mobile money transfer?
- The Electronic Transfer Levy was cut from 1.5% to 1% at the start of 2023 and then repealed outright on 2 April 2025, and the GRA told charging entities to stop deducting the same day and refund anything taken after it. No government levy sits on a mobile money transfer today.
- Do any bookmakers charge to pay you?
- one on this register publishes a charge of its own: betPawa, 1% withdrawal fee charged by betPawa; deposits free. Affiliate pages saying otherwise are contradicted by the operator's own page.
